Cooking with Kids – Fruit and Veggie Fun!

Fruit and Vegetables contain copious amounts of vitamins, minerals and dietary fibre to help your children grow big and strong. Just because they are good for you doesn’t mean they can’t be fun too. By creatively cutting up fruit and veggies into an animal, environment or person children can’t help but be persuaded into at least trying a healthy snack! As the old saying goes “Didn’t your Mother ever teach you not to play with your food”… We might just have to re-think that one!

Ingredients

You really can create a plate full of fun from anything. But if you like our idea’s then here is everything you’ll need:

  • 1 Banana
  • 1 Mandarin
  • 1 Cucumber half
  • 1 Carrot
  • 1 Celery Stick
  • 2 Tablespoon Cream Cheese
  • 1 Small Packet of Sultanas
  • 1 Apple
  • 1 Handful of Grapes
  • A few chocolate buds
  • A few strawberries
  • 1 Handful of Almonds
  • A chopping board
  • A sharp knife
  • One Large plate

Method

Follow your heart.. but here is how we made a few things – from a strawberry mouse to a carrot fish!
