At Community Kids Ormeau Early Education centre children from six weeks to twelve years can enjoy learning in a fun and safe environment.
The centre offers age appropriate educational programs based on the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). Children aged three to five years participate in a specialised Queensland Government Approved Kindergarten program covering a range of subjects which is aimed at preparing children for their school years and into the future.
We also offer Before and After School Care and Vacation Care with the centre also offering a courtesy bus pick up and drop off service as well.
At Community Kids we encourage indoor/outdoor play where children can move freely between the environments. This assists us to ensure your child’s individual temperament, needs and interests are being met.
The environments are also:
- planned for inclusion to meet the needs of all participating
- enriched with natural resources of varying textures to provide children with a connection to nature and ability to experiment with nature
- flexible and versatile so children can make decisions about their play environment.
Community Kids Ormeau boasts a wonderful team of long term early childhood educators, including a bachelor qualified teacher. Quality, nutritious meals for breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack are offered daily to all children. We also provide nappies for the convenience of our families.
The centre is open from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm, for any enquiries call the centre today or drop in and talk to one of our friendly team members.

Our centre proudly offers a kindergarten/preschool program to ensure your child is supported for their transition to school every step of the way. With a focus on language, literacy, numeracy, social skills and more your child will become Big School Ready.
My vision as a Centre Manager is to work in partnership with families and my team to create an environment that supports children’s learning and development, a place where all children feel comfortable and confident within themselves to explore and grow at their own pace. I believe that every child is unique and every child should be given the freedom and space to become whatever they wish to become.
Each and every day is very different and I take great pride in guiding my team to ensure that our centre is supporting the children that we care for.
I believe that the first five years of each child’s life is their foundation and I love to see each child within the centre grow and move through their stages of development. The most rewarding aspect is to have children who have been cared for at our centre come to visit me after they leave, to see them all grown up is just so special and it is a privilege to be a part of their life, to see children discover for the first time, to see their smiling face when they see something funny, for children to dance to their favourite music freely and to share the excitement of a child creating something they are truly proud of. To be given a drawing from a child that is just for me and to hang it proudly in my office, they are priceless moments that I treasure and that is why I have dedicated the last 18 years to childcare.
I started my career as a volunteer and worked my way to being an Assistant, Group Leader, Assistant Centre Manager then completing my qualifications to Advanced Diploma level and now have made my journey to being the Centre Manager of Community Kids Ormeau.
I am proud to be a part of the childcare industry and I am dedicated to growing and learning alongside the children in my care and the team that a lead.
I welcome you to visit our unique centre and to join us in loads of laughter and learning.

Reviews and Testimonials
See what some of our parents say about our centre:
“Our Daughter has been attending Ormeau Community Kids now for 2 years. We booked her in at the age of 2. . This was our first experience with daycare centres so we were a little hesitant. All I can say to future parents out there looking for somewhere to place your baby in the care of complete strangers is look no further.I have great pleasure in telling everyone how lucky we are to have this centre . They treat everyone that walks through their doors like family.Every staff member goes out of their way to welcome you and your little one every morning Our daughter has gone from bottle and nappies and shyness..to a confident little wee girl ready for big school. And that has everything to do with her daycare.I cannot thank the staff members enough for all of their patience and dedication.Worth more than a 5 star rating…”
“We love this centre, Teachers always take time to say Good morning/afternoon. Easily approachable, and when my daughter has those mornings where she doesn’t know what she wants to do the educators always come over and suggest and help her out so I can leave knowing she’s alright.”
“I highly recommend Community Kids Ormeau. My daughter is thriving. All the teachers are very caring and approachable.”
“All the staff are very friendly and approachable and seem to have a good rapport with all the kids. Having healthy lunches provided to the kids everyday is a HUGE bonus for us! I don’t know where we would find the time to make 3 healthy lunches each day to take to school in the morning. I’m also really surprised at how much the children are learning, I didn’t expect to see that at daycare. I’m always so pleasantly surprised when they come home telling me about new things and songs they have learnt.”
“The communication is fantastic, every day I am updated on how my son is doing as well as communication on his behaviour. The staff are kind and friendly and we love feeling so welcome. Resources are great too. The centre is clean and tidy and I know that I can feel confident my son is being given the vest care.”
“I love the daily updates emailed to me. I read them at work and it’s such a good feeling seeing my son smiling, having fun with other kids and also learning/cooking!!! The girls are all wonderful! Tracey, Laura, Anita, Deb, both Elises’, Ang and Robyn look like they love what they do!! They always have time for a quick chat and they know how to make all the kids have a good time!! Plus the chef makes some tasty lunches! Thanks everyone.”
“The team at the centre are always keeping me up to date with Bellah’s day to day learning/progress. The team are always happy, polite and very well groomed. Their kindness towards our family is very appreciated and trusted. We love that they do and they do a great job!”
“I love that when you walk in everyone is happy, they all say hello, good morning. Jenis or Deb are behind the desk always happy willing to help, the food smells so good at 8:30am, sometimes I wish I could stay just to eat with my son. In Mataio’s room, Ash and Renee – I’m so glad Mataio has them for this short period of his life, they are beautiful souls. It’s just hands down the best centre I’ve ever been a part of. I have 3 kids and have travelled, so trust me, I know.”
