## Kindergarten and preschool funding explained

Families around Australia can benefit from state government funded kindergarten and preschool subsidies to further reduce their out-of-pocket costs. This subsidy is currently available in New South Wales, Queensland, and Victoria, in addition to the [childcare subsidy](https://www.communitykids.com.au/childcare-subsidy) your family is eligible for, which is available nationwide depending on your family’s individual eligibility.

Plus, in some states, families can benefit from two years of government-funded kindergarten and preschool programs for eligible 3-year-old and 4-year-old children.

At Community Kids centres that offer government-funded programs, our families enjoy the convenience and peace of mind of incorporating kindergarten or preschool into a long daycare service. This means you can benefit from 9, 10, 11, or full-day sessions, and your daily fee may be reduced by the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) plus the funded kindergarten or preschool subsidy in your state.

Whether you’re a parent who works, studies, or needs additional flexibility in your day, our enhanced learning program for kindergarten and preschool includes access to the government-funded program within a long daycare setting.

The New South Wales government funds preschool education through the "Start Strong" program. This initiative provides financial support to community preschools, mobile preschools, and long day care services.

[VIC – “Kinder: Best Start, Best Life”](https://www.communitykids.com.au/family-information/funded-kindergarten-preschool/victoria)

The Victorian Government's funded kindergarten program is called "Kinder: Best Start, Best Life." Under this initiative, your child could be eligible for up to 15 hours per week of kinder, at low or no cost.
