Centre Manager - Community Kids Tamworth
"Many people believe that as an educator, you are the teacher however children can teach us something new each day."
began I my career in early childhood education and care in 2015 and started working at Community Kids Tamworth in 2017. I hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care. I have worked at Community Kids Tamworth as a Lead Educator, Educational Leader and Assistant Centre Manager.
I was inspired to follow a career in Early Childhood after seeing the low completion rates of Aboriginal children completing their secondary education. I wanted to find a way to support children to form a love for learning and to achieve their dreams. Working in the early childhood industry has enabled me to support children from a range of different backgrounds and support them in their early learning journey. Over the years, I have been able to meet many children and their families. Each day, you are supporting the development of young minds and the greatest reward is knowing that you are making a difference.
Every child is a unique individual who learns in different ways. Many people believe that as an educator, you are the teacher however children can teach us something new each day and we are all on a learning journey together.
As an educator, I embrace the strengths and interests of each child to create a play-based program to support their develop. I believe this style of teaching creates an engaging environment where children can explore and investigate while learning new skills from their current interests.
The first five years of a child’s life are important. A child’s brain is developing each day and they learn so many new skills. It is during this time, that we can encourage and support children to grow and develop in a safe, supportive and nurturing environment as they learn the skills they will use throughout the life.
When a child attends an early learning service, they can benefit from a team of trained educators who can support each child on their learning journey. An early education can foster language and communication skills, creativity, problem solving, social and emotional skills as well as a passion for learning.
Community Kids Tamworth has a team of dedicated educators who are passionate about support each child on their own individual learning journey. Each member of the team has their own unique skills that are embraced as part of our learning experiences. We are fortunate to have long service educators as well as community partnerships.
