How do I book a tour to see the centre of my choice?
A centre tour is a convenient way to experience the early learning centre of your choice and meet with our qualified and experienced educators at a time suitable to your family schedule. We are now also offering the virtual tour option in all of our child care centres, so you can select either an in-person tour or a virtual tour.
With G8’s childcare centres, you have 4 options to book a centre tour for your desired early learning centre.
- Book a self-scheduled tour directly online at anytime from the centre webpage using our 24/7 self-scheduled online booking tool, where you can book anytime, from anywhere. All available centre tour time slots are conveniently displayed for you to choose and lock a time in.

What is a virtual tour?
A virtual tour gives you a guided virtual tour walk-through on your chosen device (desktop, mobile or tablet) of your desired childcare centre directly by the Centre team. This gives you the opportunity to tour the child care centre if you are out of area or when your busy schedule time doesn’t allow you to attend in person. You can then always follow-up by doing an in-person tour.

Most of our early education centres offers the following:

Some of our early learning centres provide sheets and formula, so you may not need to remember to pack them. It’s best to speak to your child care centre of choice for a full list of everything included for the different age groups.
For nursery children, be sure to bring: nappy rash cream, dummies, bottles and teats, comfort toy or blanket, sun hat, three spare outfits, spare socks, a jumper and a plastic bag for wet clothes.
For toddlers and preschool or kindergarten aged children, it’s best to bring: spare underwear, water bottle or sippy cup, sun hat, closed-toe shoes, two spare outfits, spare socks, a jumper and a plastic bag for wet clothes.
Plus anything else your individual child may need, such as breast milk, a sleeping bag, comforter or medication.
How do waitlists work?
All early learning centres across the G8 network accept applications for future enrolments, and we offer enrolment placements as they become available. Our Family Support team will add your child’s name on our waitlist if a child care centre is currently full in your child’s age group. We will then contact you as soon as places become available.
We also do monthly check-ins to review the availability, and you will receive a text message confirming if you’re still happy to remain on the waitlist each month. When spots do become vacant, we will give you a call to let you know.

What are the rules regarding sickness and absences?
If your children shows signs of an infectious illness when they arrive at their child care centre or becomes sick during the day, you may be notified that you need to make alternative arrangements or pick up your child from the centre, and keep them home until they are no longer infectious. While we understand that this can be inconvenient, we’re committed to maintaining a healthy environment and reducing the risk of infection for all children at our childcare centres.
Under the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), families are allowed 52 absence days per child, per financial year. These can be taken for any reason, including public holidays and when children are sick, without the need for families to provide documentation.
Absences should only be claimed when care would have been provided if the child was not absent, and the family has been charged a fee for the session of care. CCS is only payable for absences submitted before a child has started at a service, or after a child’s final day of actual attendance at a childcare service, under limited circumstances.
How does Child Care Subsidy work?
The Child Care Subsidy is a government subsidy designed to reduce childcare fees for parents. Families must meet certain eligibility criteria to get Child Care Subsidy (CCS).
