“I see every child as a unique individual with a strong capacity to learn, grow, and contribute positively to those around them.”

I began my career in early childhood education and care in 2003 and joined Community Kids Heathmont in 2023. I believe my role is to actively involve families and the wider community in the educational process through respectful and open communication. I strive to create an environment where children, families, and our team feel respected, included, and listened to.

I see every child as a unique individual with a strong capacity to learn, grow, and contribute positively to those around them. Each child brings their own strengths, perspectives, and potential, and it is our role to nurture their development, confidence, and sense of self. Our learning environments play an important role in the success of our educational programs and should support children’s social development, communication skills, physical abilities, and individual learning styles. The programs we provide should reflect each child’s interests, strengths, and sense of belonging, while encouraging exploration, individuality, and meaningful connections.

I am committed to inspiring and guiding our team of educators to reach their full potential by leading through example, modelling best practice, and setting clear and consistent expectations. Through collaboration, support, and high standards, I aim to foster a culture of excellence and continuous professional growth. We warmly welcome cultural diversity and families from all backgrounds. I believe in celebrating each culture respectfully alongside our team and children, creating a community that values inclusion, understanding, and belonging.

As Centre Manager, I aim to create a nurturing and engaging environment that supports learning, growth, and positive challenges, helping each child progress along their individual learning journey and reach important developmental milestones.

I look forward to welcoming your family to our Heathmont early learning centre.

“I strive to create learning environments where children feel secure, valued, and respected, enabling them to explore, take appropriate risks, and build confidence.”

I believe every child is unique, capable, and deserving of an environment that supports their growth, safety, and wellbeing. I am committed to advocating for children’s rights by actively listening to their voices, respecting their perspectives, and ensuring they have the opportunities and resources needed to thrive.

I strive to create learning environments where children feel secure, valued, and respected, enabling them to explore, take appropriate risks, and build confidence in their abilities. I view education as nurturing each child’s social, emotional, and intellectual development, supporting them to reach developmental milestones through individualised and responsive practice.

I recognise the important role of the environment in fostering curiosity, creativity, and independent thinking. By providing dynamic spaces, open-ended materials, and meaningful experiences, I support children to ask questions, explore new ideas, and develop skills at their own pace.

Through strong partnerships with families, I work collaboratively to support each child’s unique needs and celebrate their progress and achievements. My goal is to empower children with confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.

“My teaching philosophy is grounded in respect for the individuality of every child.”

I believe every child is unique, with their own strengths, challenges, and ways of learning. As a 3-year-old kindergarten teacher, I see it as my responsibility to observe and understand each child’s individual needs, learning styles, and interests, so I can create an inclusive and nurturing environment that celebrates their differences.

I recognise that intelligence is multifaceted and expressed in many ways, including verbal, mathematical, spatial, musical, physical, social, emotional, and naturalistic strengths. By providing a range of learning experiences and using differentiated teaching approaches, I create opportunities for children to demonstrate their abilities in ways that feel meaningful and authentic to them, supporting each child to feel confident and capable.

My teaching philosophy is grounded in respect for the individuality of every child. Through ongoing observation, responsive practice, and intentional planning, I aim to provide children with the tools, support, and opportunities they need to grow, learn, and thrive.

“My role is not only to teach, but to guide and inspire children to become confident and caring members of their communities.”

As an early childhood teacher, I believe that supporting children’s development begins with creating a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating environment where every child feels valued, capable, and respected. I view each child as a unique individual, full of potential and curiosity, deserving of kindness, encouragement, and meaningful opportunities to learn and grow. My role is not only to teach, but to guide and inspire children to become confident and caring members of their communities.

I am committed to fostering a space where children can explore, question, and discover the world around them through play, creativity, and positive relationships. By building strong, trusting connections with each child, I support them to feel safe and confident as they explore new ideas and experiences. I approach learning with encouragement and patience, recognising that mistakes are valuable opportunities for growth.

Ultimately, my goal is to nurture children’s sense of self-worth, curiosity, and resilience, supporting them to become lifelong learners who are emotionally intelligent, compassionate, and confident. By nurturing children’s sense of wonder and self-belief, we help lay the foundation for a future full of possibilities.

Our innovative early learning programs

At our early learning centre in Heathmont, our experienced educators and teachers continually seek innovative ways to enrich your child’s education. Guided by the Early Years Learning Framework, we offer a variety of engaging and diverse learning experiences, including:

Sustainability

Our sustainability program features a dedicated compost bin and a thriving veggie garden. These initiatives not only teach children about environmental responsibility but also provide hands-on learning experiences in growing and nurturing plants.

Community engagement

We love to provide opportunities for children to engaging with their community, fostering a sense of belonging. We often have visits from our local Heathmont community, including librarians, local police, and other community services to help familiarise the children with their local community.

Music and movement

Our evidence-based Rhythm and Movement for Self-Regulation (RAMSR) program is designed to develop fundamental skills that help support children’s self-regulation, memory, and concentration. It is an innovative approach to holistic learning, development and well-being in early childhood.

STEM

We encourage your child to ask questions, experiment, and problem-solve, all while engaging their natural curiosity. By fostering this inquisitive mindset, we help them develop critical thinking skills and a deeper understanding of the world around them.

Frequently asked questions

A centre tour is a convenient way to experience the childcare centre of your choice and meet with our qualified educators at a time that is suitable for your family’s schedule. Click here to book a tour online.

On the day of the tour, you can observe practices and interactions within the centre environment. You’ll be able to see all the rooms and playgrounds, ask the team members any questions you have in mind, and get all the information you need to make the best decision for your child.

Our Family Support Team will add your child’s name to our waitlist if one of our childcare centres is currently full in your child’s age group. We will then contact you as soon as a place becomes available.

We also do monthly check-ins to review availability, and you will receive a text message confirming whether you’re still happy to remain on the waitlist each month. If you would like an update at any point, you’re welcome to reach out on our Web Chat or give us a call.

Our Family Support Team can also help you find more G8 early learning centres near you, with the same offerings at the Community Kids centre you are interested in that have immediate availability.

It’s common for a child to experience separation anxiety when they first start child care. When you’re getting ready to start child care, you can help your child overcome anxieties by visiting the child care service together for a Stay and Play session, and easing into new routines at home.

Read more tips about how to make the transition easier for your child.

Most of our child care and early education centres offer nappies and wipes, sunscreen and hats, as well as nutritious meals prepared by our in-house cook. Some centres also provide sheets and formula, so you may not need to remember to pack them.

For nursery children, be sure to bring: nappy rash cream, dummies, bottles and teats, comfort toys or blankets, three spare outfits and spare socks.

For toddlers and preschool or kindergarten-aged children, it’s best to bring: spare underwear, water bottle or sippy cup, sun hat, closed-toe shoes, two spare outfits and spare socks.

Plus, anything else your individual child may need, such as breast milk, a sleeping bag, a comforter or medication.

It’s best to speak to your centre of choice for a full list of everything included.

Community Kids uses Xplor Home as our family communication app. It is the best and easiest way to keep track of your child’s day.

After you enrol your child with the centre, you can utilise Xplor Home to book child care days, manage your account, receive the photographs that capture your child’s learning, learn about your child’s progress, as well as keep up-to-date with upcoming centre events and important information.

If your child shows signs of an infectious illness when they arrive at the centre or becomes sick during the day, you may be notified that you need to make alternative arrangements or pick up your child from the centre and keep them home until they are no longer infectious. While we understand that this can be inconvenient, Community Kids is committed to maintaining a healthy environment and reducing the risk of infection for all children.

Under the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), families are allowed 42 absence days per child, per financial year. These can be taken for any reason, including public holidays and when children are sick, without requiring families to provide documentation.
