  • Working towards Bachelor of Education
“I believe in forming strong bonds with each child so I can better understand their needs and interests, which helps me track their development and provide the guidance they need.”

I started my career in 2010 as a Family Day Care Educator, a role I held for nearly a decade before transitioning to centre-based care. I joined Community Kids Morisset in March 2024 and am currently working towards becoming an Early Childhood Teacher. I chose this career path because I enjoy watching children reach their developmental milestones.

I have learned that every child develops at their own pace and in their own unique way. This understanding guides my teaching approach, as I focus on each child’s strengths and areas for growth to provide tailored support. I believe in forming strong bonds with each child so I can better understand their needs and interests, which helps me track their development and provide the guidance they need.

I often explain to families that attending a dedicated early childhood education centre offers many benefits, including learning through play, socialising with peers, and forming secure bonds with educators. This environment helps children feel safe and supported while developing important social skills and confidence, making their transition to school smoother.

Our team at Community Kids Morisset is passionate, nurturing, and committed to creating a strong sense of belonging for every family. We support families by maintaining open communication, addressing concerns promptly, and being approachable and ready to listen whenever needed. I have built strong relationships with long-standing families, supporting their children’s learning journeys and helping create a caring, supportive environment.

Our innovative early learning programs

At our early learning centre in Morisset, our play-based curriculum is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), supporting children to learn through play, exploration and discovery.

Sustainability

Our sustainability program includes tending to worm gardens and recycling worm tea into our centre’s plants, alongside projects like making birdhouses, upcycling, reverse garbage, and donations. These initiatives reflect our commitment to fostering environmental responsibility and creativity in our children.

Independence and life skills

Children develop autonomy, interdependence, resilience and a sense of agency through meaningful participation in everyday routines, such as preparing snack, caring for plants, and tidying shared spaces.

See more My daughter absolutely loves coming here each day and it is no doubt due to the quality of educators that are within this centre as well as the new centre manager who has recently come in and made some real noticeable & positive changes. The centre has a positive feel about it the moment you walk in the door. The educators are always welcoming and friendly as you walk in the door, even if they aren't the sole educators looking after your child. The food always smells amazing as you walk in the door, and my fussy eating daughter enjoys the meals prepared. A special shout out to a few extra special educators who are honestly the reason why we have such a great experience with this centre – Tara, Renee, Ash, & Simone. Each of these ladies go above and beyond for the children and parents to ensure they are provided with quality care and the parents are being provided with regular updates. These ladies are always so happy and positive and take the time to listen to any concerns or changes that may be happening with my daughter. Truly such a lovely centre and highly recommended.

When you walk in everyone is friendly and welcoming and morale always appears high. Any questions or queries I have are answered promptly. Would 100% recommend this centre to anyone.

See more My daughter has attended Community Kids since 2019. I applied for attendance after many other recommendations. They have always been so caring, everyone we see knows her name and greets her with a smile. My daughter has always been happy to go every week and when I pick her up at the end of the day, although she’s happy to see me, she rarely wants to leave she is having so much fun! Always clean and great outdoor areas. They were patient and helpful during toilet training phase and ready with bandaids when accidents happen. When the time comes I will happily send him there also. I can not fault them.

See more My 10 month old son recently started, and choosing Community Kids was absolutely the right decision as each time I have left in the morning I have felt confident that my little boy would be well cared for. Shelley has also helped me with lots of changes and last minute decisions which has helped make my transition back to work much easier, and she is a very lovely person to deal with. And the centre itself is very well presented, clean and well organised. 100% happy.

Most of our child care and early education centres offer nappies and wipes, sunscreen and hats, as well as nutritious meals prepared by our in-house cook. Some centres also provide sheets and formula, so you may not need to remember to pack them.

For nursery children, be sure to bring: nappy rash cream, dummies, bottles and teats, comfort toys or blankets, three spare outfits and spare socks.

For toddlers and preschool or kindergarten-aged children, it’s best to bring: spare underwear, water bottle or sippy cup, sun hat, closed-toe shoes, two spare outfits and spare socks.

Plus, anything else your individual child may need, such as breast milk, a sleeping bag, a comforter or medication.

It’s best to speak to your centre of choice for a full list of everything included.

Community Kids uses Xplor Home as our family communication app. It is the best and easiest way to keep track of your child’s day.

After you enrol your child with the centre, you can utilise Xplor Home to book child care days, manage your account, receive the photographs that capture your child’s learning, learn about your child’s progress, as well as keep up-to-date with upcoming centre events and important information.

If your child shows signs of an infectious illness when they arrive at the centre or becomes sick during the day, you may be notified that you need to make alternative arrangements or pick up your child from the centre and keep them home until they are no longer infectious. While we understand that this can be inconvenient, Community Kids is committed to maintaining a healthy environment and reducing the risk of infection for all children.

Under the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), families are allowed 42 absence days per child, per financial year. These can be taken for any reason, including public holidays and when children are sick, without requiring families to provide documentation.
