Hello, I am Sandy Muscat and I have been working in the child care industry for 13 years.
I started off my career as a trainee and have worked my way up through roles of assistant, group leader and director. I have a Diploma in child care and have been working in the role of Centre Manager for the last 6 years. I am a true believer in high quality care and strive every day to ensure that high quality care is given to our children and families. I have a lot of passion for the early years sector and every day I wake up and can’t wait to go to work. During my career in child care I have seen a lot of changes and coming to Community Kids has allowed me to have personal growth within the industry I love. I also like to work collaboratively with my staff mentoring and guiding them in the right direction to provide quality care for the children and our families.
I believe that children learn and develop at their own pace. As educators working in the early years we have such an important job to have foundations in place for children to have the opportunity to have a great head start. This is as simple as guiding children in the right direction and allowing them to grow through play base learning. It has been acknowledged that there is a strong link between play and learning for young children, especially in the areas of problem solving, language, literacy, social, physical, and emotional skills. Young children actively explore their environment and the world around them through learning-based play.
All educators hold a relevant and approved child care qualification depending on the position they are currently employed in. Lead educators either hold a Diploma or Bachelor in early childhood. All assistant educators have or are studying to gain their Certificate III in Child Care, with some educators also studying for their diploma to improve their qualifications and knowledge.
It is centre policy that all educators are trained in First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma training before commencement of employment and are required to attend refresher courses on CPR every 12 months and in First Aid, Anaphylaxis & Asthma every three years. Educators are also required to have a current ‘Working With Children’ check before being employed. We also require staff have child protection and fire training every year.
Educators are regularly sent to in-service training throughout the year to keep up to date with changes within the industry and to enhance their professional development.

Reviews and Testimonials
See what some of our parents say about our centre:
“My children aged 5 and 3 have been attending Community Kids Old Coach Road Early Education Centre for two years. I have nothing but praise for the wonderful people who have helped teach and guide my children. My children have learnt so much and as they are both quite shy I have noticed a marked improvement in their people skills and are coming out of their shell and opening up. The teachers are wonderful, helpful and very understanding. I would not hesitate to recommend this centre to any of my friends and family looking for an early education centre for their children.”
“My son has been going to this daycare for almost 12 months now and loves it. His social and development skills have improved so much since starting. The staff are fabulous and always have time for you and your child and they are happy to let you know how your childs day was. They are like a second family to me, always willing to help when they can. I couldn’t think of a better centre to send my son. Would highly recommend this daycare to anyone. Keep up the great work.”
“Our little girl has been going to this centre since she was 10 months old. It is always heart breaking for first time mum’s to let go of their precious little ones at such a young age but the team of wonderful ladies there made the transition as smooth and painless for both Mum and bub. She is now a thriving 3 year old and loves her 3 days at kindy, all the arts and crafts and outdoor activities. Dress up days and teddy bears picnics, the fun is never ending. We have had some challenging times at home and with her discipline in the last year or so but the staff have always supported us and helped me through some rough days. Massive thank you to the whole team you have made being a Mum that needs to work a whole lot happier knowing her precious princess is well looked after.”
“Our baby started at Community Kids Old Coach Rd Early Learning Centre when he was 8 mths old, he is now 2 yrs old and absolutely loves it there! The Educators who have cared and loved our boy from when he started in the Babies room through to his Toddler class have been amazing! As a parent, its such a hard task to leave your child in the hands of someone else – but everyday we know that our boy is loved, cared for, absolutely well fed (meals included). He has so much fun and more importantly is learning and developing new skills everyday. Administration staff have always been so helpful and kind to our family – would highly recommend anyone to our centre.”
