“I have always loved being around children, from a young age. They bring so much joy and happiness to the world.”
Centre Manager - Community Kids Cranbourne
I began working in early learning in 1996 and have been at Community Kids Cranbourne since 2007. I have Diploma’s in Children’s services and Business Management.
Throughout my time in childcare, I have worked in various roles from starting out as a cleaner, then moving onto an assistant role, then Lead Educator, ACM and now am a Centre Manager alongside Kristi.
Working in my former roles I’ve learnt a lot about early education. I have always loved being around children, from a young age. They bring so much joy and happiness to the world.
I’ve also learnt many different teaching styles whilst working in the Early Childhood sector. Being in this fulfilling sector, I have also grown and changed along the way and alongside the children.
There are so many benefits for children who attend early learning services. It encourages social skills, improves social anxiety and more development needs. Being able to care and guide each child on their journey is a gift. They tell the story and this is how I help them learn.
Our team hold health and safety standards and practices to a high standard daily. We follow all company and centre based polices daily to ensure the children and team are safe at all times.
We have long-serving, multicultural team members who reflect our local community. Many have been with the centre over 10 years. It’s the sort of centre where everyone knows all the children, no matter which room they are in. We are such a close-knit team it feels like one big family and our own little community.
The best part of my job is the team – they are so committed and positive about their role as educators. The whole team sees their role as incredibly important, helping children establish the building blocks for a successful lifetime of learning.
We know that the whole process of starting at a new centre can create overwhelm and confusion for some families. From the initial orientation through to daily care, we keep our communications clear and ongoing. We make it our mission to ensure families feel welcome.
We guide you through our enrolment process, encourage families to come and tour our centre, and we’ll assist with filling out enrolment forms or completing if required. We have an open-door policy with our tours taking place at any time of the day to work around busy schedules and nap times.
We treat every family the same new or old to centre, we help and guide them from start to finish through this process. We’re all happy to show you around.
We’re also a social bunch! We hold many family and culture celebrations throughout the year to bring our families together as a local community.
A fun little fact about me is that I love Eeyore. Actually, I love all donkeys.
Centre Manager - Community Kids Cranbourne
“Every child is unique and every child learns differently.”
I began working with children in 1999 and joined Community Kids Cranbourne in 2009.
I have an Advanced Diploma of children's services been a centre director at this centre since I arrived.
I pursued a career in childcare as I wanted to be able to make a positive difference in the lives and education of children and families.
Every child is unique, and every child learns differently. You need to be very flexible in the education you provide to cater for everyone as every child has the right to learn. All children have the right to feel safe and be safe in all aspects of their world, so we ensure they have that here at our centre.
We plan our curriculum around the interest of the children within the room this provides a variety of opportunities and learning experiences for all the children.
I love working with this team. They are so committed and positive about their role as educators. The whole team sees their role as incredibly important, helping children establish the building blocks for a successful lifetime of learning.
I am available to families throughout the whole enrolment process and during their start to ensure they are comfortable every step of the onboarding process.
While we’re very much a family at the centre, I’m also a mother to my daughter, fur baby dog and 2 cats as well as 2 Guinea pigs.
