Centre Manager - Community Kids Dubbo
"Supporting young children to grow into the amazing individuals they are meant to be."
I have been working in early education since 2011. During my time working in this sector, I have grown and learnt so much (and am still continuing to do so). My passion has always lived with the early years and supporting young children to grow into the amazing individuals they are meant to be. One aspect that I particularly love about working in this industry, is the pride, excitement and pure joy that I feel each day as I witness children learning and mastering new skills, develop new relationships and start to find where they fit into the world.
Children learn best through experience, which is best provided when they are given the room and opportunity to make decisions and mistakes. It is then from these decisions and mistakes that children grow to become strong, confident and independent individuals with their own ambitions. At our Community Kids Dubbo, we provide support and guidance, which gives them all the security they need to achieve a higher sense of autonomy and agency.
I have worked for over 10 years in this centre, starting out as a trainee educator studying my Certificate III back in 2011, and progressing all the way to a Centre Manager. I learned that each child is different and different teaching styles should be applied for different children. As much as I get to know the children and their families, I allow them to get to know me as well and that assists me in selecting which teaching style best suits the child.
We have long-serving, multicultural team members who reflect our local community. Many have been with the centre over 5 years. It’s the sort of centre where everyone knows all the children, no matter which room they are in. We are such a close-knit team it feels like one big family.
The best part of my job is the team – they are so committed and positive about their role as educators. The whole team sees their role as incredibly important, helping children establish the building blocks for a successful lifetime of learning.
Being a smaller service allows families to get to know every educator within our service very quickly. I always stop and check in with families during drop off and pick up to not only check in on their child, but also themselves as they are a huge part of our little Community Kids Family as well.
I look forward to welcoming you and your child to our Community Kids family.
