Centre Manager - Community Kids Golden Square

"I particularly loved supporting children in their overall development and confidence, and encouraging them to be the very best they can be."

I started working in early learning in 2010. I joined the team at Community Kids Golden Square in August, 2022.

I started as an casual educator and worked through to an assistant, lead educator, educational leader, kindergarten teacher before becoming an assistant centre manager turned to a centre manager. I completed my Advanced Diploma in 2016 and my Bachelor in Early Childhood in 2020. I am currently on my provisional VIT registration.

I have always enjoyed my time working with children, having conversations with them and exploring opportunities for them to learn all about the world in which they live. I particularly loved supporting children in their overall development and confidence, and encouraging them to be the very best they can be. I believe you need to consistently keep an open mind, being able to adapt your teaching style to suit and benefit each child. It is so important to recognise every child as an individual learner, and being able to support them in whatever way suits them best.

In a centre-based early learning environment, there is such a huge emphasis on the social and emotional development for children, as well as the ability for children to explore programs such as an consistent indoor/outdoor program to further develop physical development as well as foundational skills. Each child has opportunities to become their own person, being recognised and praised for their individuality, and being exposed to so many extra-curricular activities and experiences which may not be necessarily available within a home environment.

At Community Kids Golden Square, we are very tight knit team, working within a home-like community. The team is passionate and dedicated towards their roles, and I am so excited to be able to guide and develop each educator professionally for them to achieve their goals and ambitions.

As a parent myself, I am able to provide a high level of empathy and can be relatable to the families who walk within our centre's doors. I believe consistent and open communication with each family, as well as spending time to really get to know each family individually are very important.

I look forward to welcoming you to Community Kids Golden Square!
