Centre Manager - Community Kids Kadina
"I love to help shape little minds, to help them grow and build the life they deserve. "
My early learning journey started in 1994. I joined the team at Community Kids Kadina Early Education Centre in 2006. I hold a Certificate in Infant Mental Health, Diploma in Children's Services, Diploma in Business and Management, Certificate IV in Human resources, Certificate II in Medical First Response and Certificate IV in Health Care.
Our children are our future, and this is what inspired me to work in early education. I love to help shape little minds, to help them grow and build the life they deserve. I want our next generation to create change and focus on the important things in life. During my career, I have learnt that each child is incredibly valuable and unique, and they all learn differently. Once you determine someone’s learning style and intelligence area, you can teach effectively. I embrace Dr Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligence theory and incorporate it into my pedagogy. One strong focus I have is incorporating Auslan to help and support language development. I found that this captures the attention of children as it increases the enjoyment of communicating and improves cognitive development.
A safe and inclusive play-based learning environment allows children to explore, imagine and investigate. They can develop many new skills, such as building on vocabulary, relationships and knowledge, as well as their creativity and critical thinking skills.
The team at Community Kids Kadina is a mix of young and old educators that bring a wealth of knowledge to our centre. Our team hold strong connections to the community. We work in collaboration to provide the best outcomes for our future generations. We make sure each and every family feels welcome in our centre, and strongly encourage communication through personal interactions, phone calls, visits to the centre, emails and interactions with our Xplor app.
