Tehseen Fatima
Centre Manager - Community Kids Meadow Heights
“I am passionate about working with children, families and our local community.”
My Name is Tehseen Fatima. I am Centre Manager at Community Kids Meadow Heights Early Education centre and have been the Centre Manager since April 2020.
I have been working in Early childhood Education for the last 17 years having pursued this career path in 2003. I have a Diploma in Early childhood Education and Care and certificates in Child Protection, First Aid and CPR.
I started out working as a Family Day Care and loved every day of working with children and families. I’ve worked with all age groups in different centres.
I have been married for 23 years and have 3 beautiful daughters and 3 pet chickens. I am passionate about working with and have close connections with the children, their families, our local community and my team of Educators.
Here at Community Kids Meadow Heights Early Education Centre, we have a wonderful and dedicated team of multicultural educators who are here to support children, children's families and community. Our team takes part in regular trainings to ensure we are always striving to be the best we can be in our work, but also everywhere we go.
We work in partnership with families to ensure the best outcome for each individual child. We are fortunate to have educators who speak Urdu, Hindi, Turkish, Sinhalese, Malay, Indonesian, Tetum, Cantonese and Mandarin.
At Community Kids Meadow Heights, we have a fantastic cook who works 5 days a week and cooks so many delicious and healthy meals for children. We have a 4-week rotating menu to offer much needed change and variety for children.
We work very hard at our commitment to being a sustainable centre. We reuse water from children’s classrooms to keep our veggie garden hydrated and all our left-over food goes to one staff member to feed her chickens at home.
I love working In Early childhood setting because I know that first 5 years of a child’s life are fundamentally important. They are the foundation that shapes children’s future health, happiness, growth, development and learning at school, in family and in community an in life in general.
