We’re part of your village at Community Kids Mornington Child Care and Early Education Centre. Our early learning and long day care centre are ideally located for families living or commuting through Mornington, Mount Martha, Moorooduc and Mount Eliza.
We are a small family-oriented centre with a big focus on nature and Bush Kinder, which we offer three days a week to the Pre-Kinder and Kindergarten rooms. Community Kids Mornington Early Education Centre is a high-quality, affordable child care centre that cares for children aged from 6 weeks to 6 years old. We are open from 7:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
Spacious areas designed to inspire
From the moment you step into our Mornington child care centre, you will experience a world where children are inspired to explore, learn and grow. Our spacious outdoor environments include climbing equipment, a water play area, sandpits, and a vegetable garden to engage all the senses. Children are provided time and space for uninterrupted play. They explore the outdoor spaces to test their limits and develop strength, balance, and self-confidence.
Our indoor environments invite exploration with quality resources and learning experiences. Children marvel, create, and test their ideas as they play with a range of materials in purposeful play spaces. Our team of experienced educators plan play-based learning experiences around children’s interests and learning goals. Literacy and numeracy concepts are embedded in play-based learning, as children engage as architects, storytellers, scientists, artists and designers. You can follow your child’s progress through daily updates to our parent communication app - Xplor.
Healthy meals freshly prepared in-house
There is no need to worry about packing lunch and snacks for your child. We provide healthy, freshly made meals created daily by our in-house cook, catering for all dietary requirements. Shared mealtimes between children and educators grow relationships, with opportunities to share stories and experiences, and model healthy eating practices.
Community-based early learning
No two days are the same at Community Kids Mornington. Educators and children venture out to excursions to our local Mornington community visiting nearby parks, nature reserves such as The Briars, Coolart Wetlands, Healesville Sanctuary and more. Children also visit the zoo, library, beach and museum. Neighbourhood connections support a sense of community and belonging for children and provide opportunities to develop social and observational skills with different people, places, and environments. We also offer an engaging sustainability program teaching the children a sense of responsibility and connection to their world, ensuring that children feel safe, supported and challenged to learn new things and participate in new experiences.
We offer engaging specialised programs designed to grow physical and cognitive development, including a music and movement program, yoga and Bush Kinder.
Dedicated team of educators
The highly qualified educators at Community Kids Mornington believe that children are unique learners and develop at their own pace through play. Children learn best when they are able to experience things in a variety of ways and feel supported and safe to take risks. The educators ensure that children feel safe, supported and challenged to learn new things and participate in new experiences.
The educators seek to make sure that the environment is inviting, natural, stimulating and engaging, and that it reflects the children’s personalities and interests. Educators want to give children the best possible start on their early learning journey, which is why they focus on the children's social development, confidence and independence at a young age combined with a school readiness program will help children prepare for the next step in their education.
As members of our Community Kids community, we look forward to partnering with you to provide information, support, and high-quality education and care in your child’s formative years.
