Centre Manager - Community Kids Mount Gambier

“Children develop their curiosity, problem-solving, confidence and resilience at our centre.”

I began my career in early childhood education and care in 2014 and started working at Community Kids Mount Gambier, I hold a Cert 3 and Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care and have worked as an Assistant, Lead Educator, Educational Leader, Assistant Centre Manager and Centre Manager.

I was inspired to begin working in early learning, as ensuring children have a safe place where their learning is promoted and challenged to further develop and thrive in their own individual way is my passion. I love watching the children grow and have their personalities shine through as they begin to feel comfortable and confident.

Our centre uses the foundation of play-based learning to guide our experiences every day. With access to a range of age-appropriate learning resources, trained educators, and new experiences among friends, we set children up to thrive in an environment that is dedicated to learning. Children develop their curiosity, problem-solving, confidence and resilience at our centre, and we carefully plan play-based learning experiences around their interests and learning goals. Over time, you will see your child develop abilities such as language, motor movement, memory, concentration and social relationships all by partaking in these experiences - it's a truly incredible journey to witness!

We have qualified, passionate, team members who reflect our local community. Each team member is committed and positive about their role as educators. The whole team sees their role as incredibly important, helping children establish the building blocks for a successful lifetime of learning.

During our orientation process, we take the time to know our new families to build strong relationships, with trust and understanding. This is critical to ensure the family feels confident and happy to leave their child/ren in our care.

We have a family room at the front of our centre where families are welcome to sit, relax, have a coffee and ensure their child settles for their own peace of mind before they leave for the day. This is encouraged for new families, during the orientation process as we suggest small visits prior to the child’s first day- trial drop-offs, small visits etc.

We start with a centre tour, showcasing our high-quality learning environments, welcoming educators and in depth-learning opportunities. We then sit down for a chat in our family room and offer parents a coffee whilst answering any questions they may have. We have a detailed welcome pack with all they need to know included along with educator photos etc. We then welcome families back to show their partner/grandparents. We always encourage visits and actively stay in touch throughout the whole enrolment process to ensure families feel supported!
