Centre Manager - Community Kids Pakenham

“I love the meaningful interactions and seeing the joy in children's eyes as they learn through play.”

I started working in early learning in 2005 and joined the team at Community Kids Pakenham in 2017. I hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care and ran my own Family daycare for 11 years before joining a centre.

I entered the Early Childhood Education sector to be an advocate for children’s rights. I want to give them opportunities to learn, grow and laugh in a safe and inclusive environment. I particularly love the meaningful interactions and seeing the joy in children's eyes as they learn through play.

I have learnt that children can learn through any activities and mediums, that they do not need all big fancy items, and that a cardboard box can extend their learning in so many ways. I love working with recyclable materials and having many open-ended experiences. I love empowering children through trusted relationships to be the best they can be.

At our Pakenham centre, our experienced team extends your child’s interests, includes them in their learning, and promotes social environments. We participate in regular music and movement lessons, which encourage the children to practice cultural competency and respect. We also include mindfulness in our programs, educating children on the importance of self-regulation, breathing, meditation, and mental health. We pride ourselves on having a positive team culture. We take on board feedback, professionally challenge each other, and provide support to ensure the service is always operating at a positive level.

We pride ourselves on our communication with our families. We offer consistent communication from the very beginning of the enrolment process, as well as adhere to our open-door policy and encourage families to come to the service.
