Centre Manager - Community Kids Yandina 2
“Our role as educators is to empower children to reach their full potential and to become confident, independent, and capable learners.”
I started working in early learning in 1999. I joined the team at Community Kids Yandina 1 in 2015 and Yandina 2 in 2023. I hold an Advanced diploma in children's services.
I began my career in early childhood education over 25 years ago, I joined the industry because of my passion for children and education. At the heart of ‘why I do what I do’ is my aspiration to make a difference in children's lives and to be an advocate for children.
As an early childhood educator, I have learned that children respond incredibly well to positive interactions. Children learn best when they are happy, supported, safe, and engaged. I believe in child's agency and that children need to be involved in decision making processes.
Attending a dedicated Education and care setting is important for children's overall development, particularly children's social and emotional skills, as they build relationships outside their immediate family and community. It allows children to build a sense of who they are and where they fit in the world. Children learn how to develop close relationships with their peers and educators, they learn to how to play with others, share, listen and follow directions.
At Community Kids Yandina 2, we have a dedicated team of experienced educators with a strong passion for high quality education and care. Our role as educators is to empower children to reach their full potential and to become confident, independent, and capable learners. We believe children develop and learn best when they are supported by people they trust and when they are given opportunities to explore the world around them.
We build strong relationships with our families by respect through open and honest communication. We understand that starting at a new centre can be overwhelming. We walk families through all the forms and administration that need to be done. This includes enrolment forms, Child Care Subsidy (CCS), explaining subsidies, government caps, centre schedules, our centre menu and more.
