We know that there is no one size fits all option for our families when it comes to early childhood education and care. That is why we are giving families the freedom to choose which hours best suit their needs.
Nine-hour, ten-hour and full day options are available to all families under the one associated flat fee, enabling them to make the most out of the Child Care Subsidy.
Designed to reduce out of pocket costs and increase access to subsidised hours, the new flexible model is part of our commitment to providing greater access to quality early childhood education and care.
Our families will:
- Not be limited by start and finish times like models from other early education providers.
- Be able to confirm their enrolment in one of Community Kids’ flexible options.
Choose from our nine-hour, ten-hour or full day sessions and make the most out of the Child Care Subsidy.
To find out which flexible hours option best suit you, use the Child Care Subsidy Calculator below:
Flexible hours may not suit everyone. It is important to compare all three scenarios to see which option best suits your individual circumstances.
The Martinez family currently attend a centre in Brisbane’s south five days a week. The centre’s daily fee is $120. Although the family have 100 hours of subsidised care allocated to them a fortnight, their centre opening hours are 6am-6pm which means they currently access 120 hours a fortnight and are forced to pay for 20 of those hours out of pocket. After entering their details in the estimator, the Martinez family found that moving to a ten-hour option or 6am-4pm best suited their needs and reduced their out of pocket costs by $132.75 a fortnight.
