Community Kids Pascoe Vale Early Education Centre

About Us

Welcome to Community Kids Pascoe Vale Early Education Centre.

We take great pride in our child care Centre and continually evaluate our program and policies. We are very conscious of making sure children are stimulated and challenged, and above all, that they feel loved and secure within our centre.

Our Centre aims to provide programs that cater for children’s physical, intellectual, social and emotional needs, which respects individual differences and offers creative play experiences.

Our Centre aims to encourage positive relationships between staff, parents, children and the community.

As each child’s earliest experiences occur in the home and parental interest and involvement in these experiences is significant to the child’s development, we value a co-operative effort by parents and educators to provide continuity of experiences from the home to the Centre.

Community Kids Pascoe Vale is open from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm and provides care and education for children aged six weeks to six years. For your convenience, a nutritious morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea is provided.

Our centre is located on Bell Street near the ramp onto the Freeway, to access to our centre go down Westgate Street which is behind our centre, into Magdalen Street and follow the service road (next to entry onto Bell street) to arrive at our centre. This service road is a one way street, so after you leave our centre you follow the service road out onto Bell Street into the Coburg direction. Please keep in mind if you are coming off the ramp from Freeway, you cannot turn left into Anderson Street between 7 am – 9 am.

Our Kindergarten program is supported by the Victorian Government.

Victorian Government ApprovedIt’s no secret that kindergarten programs give children a flying start to learning and life.  A good kindergarten program helps lay a strong foundation for a child’s future education.

At Community Kids Pascoe Vale we offer a Kindergarten program that aims to provide you and your child with a smooth transition from pre-school to school.  Our Kindergarten program is based on the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) and is designed to assist your child’s development in the following key areas:

  • social skills, like how to play with other children in a calm, sharing and rewarding way
  • self-awareness and respect for others
  • emotional skills, for example understanding their own feelings
  • language, literacy and numeracy skills, such as reading stories and counting objects
  • a joy for learning and group activities, such as talking, drawing and making things together with other children their own age
  • ability to make new friends
  • exposure to new ideas and concepts

Our Kindergarten program is delivered by a University trained Early Childhood Teacher and our programs are Government Approved.  Our Kinder program runs exactly the same way as a sessional kinder program, however we offer more hours for working parents as the Kinder program is incorporated into the long day care setting.

Our childcare centre proudly offers a kindergarten/preschool program to ensure your child is supported for their transition to school every step of the way. With a focus on language, literacy, numeracy, social skills and more your child will become school ready.

Meet the Centre Manager

Gemma Lewis

My name is Gemma and I am the Centre Manager here at Community Kids in Pascoe Vale South. I have over 14 years’ of experience in the field of Early Childhood Care and Education at this centre. I have also worked as an Assistant, Team Leader and  Assistant Centre Manager for this wonderful centre.

My philosophy is to provide the highest level of care and education for your child in a warm, nurturing and safe environment. By creating a feeling of acceptance and sense of belonging, I strive to provide an environment which enables each child to feel safe, loved and secure.

I thoroughly enjoy forming close relationships with families and believe that it is really important that we as educators work in partnership with families to ensure that each child develops to their full potential. I love being able to be a part of the children’s lives and watching them develop into confident individuals.

I aim to lead and educate staff with professional training to further enhance their skills and knowledge to educate and assist the children with their development and milestones.

I acknowledge that it is very important to involve the broader community in the centre by introducing services such as the Preschool Field Officers and Inclusion Support for families to access.

I welcome everyone to visit us here at Community Kids Pascoe Vale to find out more information about our wonderful centre.

‘Children are the world’s most valuable resource and its best hope for the future’.

Reviews and Testimonials

See what some of our parents have to say about our centre:

“Wanted to say thanks for raising your already great service at the centre. A couple of things. Consistency in educators… It is really easy to get Dylan out the door each morning as he knows and is comfortable with the educators. We get endless stories of Iresha, Nita and Sammy every night. Also from our standpoint this means that these educators know how Dylan is progressing and that is a huge plus. Kindyhub photos and story each day – makes our day seeing him happy and doing activities I probably would never even think of or do (due to mess!) You are doing a fantastic job. We appreciate all the work from the educators and everyone else (including the amazing cook) in making Dylan’s home away from home a great one!!!”

– Swetta and Vishal

“My twin boys started at this centre in the babies room and they love it there along with all the staff. They transitioned into day care so easily because it feels like their home away from home and the staff are so great at attending to their individual needs. The facilities are excellent, the staff are really caring, the food is fantastic and it feels just like one big family. I would highly recommend this centre to anyone living in the area.”

– Laura

“Absolutely fantastic centre! Our daughter is in the babies room, and we are really happy with all aspects of her care at CKPV. The educators are passionate, friendly and highly experienced. We are really impressed with the communication and level of detail on daily activities and progress. All staff are friendly, welcoming and engaging. The facilities are excellent, and the centre is clean and safe. It’s fantastic that parents are invited to attend / get involved in various events throughout the year. CKPV has a wonderful family feel to it and I highly recommend it to local families.”

– Brooke

“I feel very lucky to have found this centre. It is a wonderful place, full of warmth, openness and friendly faces. The teachers are the best, there’s a caring and friendly Director, the facilities are fun and educational and the food is yum! My oldest went here for years before starting school and still misses it. My youngest loves it here and she is sad the days that she doesn’t get to go. She always comes home happy and tells me how much fun she’s had. I am about to have a third child and that child will definitely be going to Community Kids in Pascoe Vale!”

– Amy

“My 3 children have attended this centre over the last 10 years and we have been extremely happy with all the staff, facilities and overall care that they have provided to my family. We have been so lucky to have experienced the same staff caring for all 3 of my children at one point or another; it has made the whole child care experience seamless. We can’t recommend this centre enough and are truly saddened that our time here is almost over.

– Luisa

“I have been lucky enough to have both my children attend this centre. I have found all staff to be very helpful, and most of all nurturing and empathetic toward my children. Any concerns I have had have been addressed promptly and with compassion. The facilities are excellent and the program offers different activities to stimulate children and foster their development.

– Karren

“I had a good feeling as soon as I walked into this centre – and for good reason. Small group sizes, a calm (but cheeky and fun!) atmosphere, caring staff and good food meant I was more than happy to have my children attend. They are really enjoying their time at the centre, and I know they’re being extraordinarily well-looked after.
