Centre Manager - Community Kids Campbelltown
“I love adapting our learning to suit the needs of each child within our care as well as observing their learning and growth.”
I began my career in early childhood education and care in 2013 and started working at Community Kids Campbelltown in 2013. I hold a Diploma of Early Childhood Education.
From a young age I have always had a passion for working with children. I love being a part of their journey as we learn and grow together. 7 years ago, I began at the centre as a trainee beginning my journey and career working with the children and families. Since then, I have learnt so much about our service as well as the children, families, and myself.
I have learnt that each child is unique and has individual needs. I love adapting our learning to suit the needs of each child within our care as well as observing their learning and growth. I am constantly learning alongside the children as we explore various learning styles.
We have two Early childhood teachers within our service with over 20 years of knowledge between them. Our service caters to each individual child’s interest and abilities through a play-based learning curriculum developed collaboratively between the educators and children. Currently in our preschool room we have set up a big school area where the children are able to explore a school like setting with desks and chairs, uniforms from local schools as well as using their imaginations to create school scenarios.
We have long-serving, multicultural team members who reflect our local community, within our team we speak Mandarin, Arabic and Bengali. Many have been with the centre for over 5 years. The best part of my job is the team – they are so committed and positive about their role as educators. The whole team sees their role as incredibly important, helping children establish the building blocks for a successful lifetime of learning through our values and relationships.
Child safety is paramount within our centre. We are continuously upskilling our knowledge and practices through online learning modules and meetings.
We aim to provide a home like environment in our service which you walk into and automatically feel at ease and comfortable. We are always looking for feedback about cultures, traditions, weekend adventures and family input. We take pride in our relationships with our families and children in our care ensuring this is built on trust open communication.
We know mornings are a very busy time, usually rushing around hoping not to forget anything before we leave. We have a coffee station set up in our foyer just for that reason! Take a quick break before your day or a coffee on the run in our sustainable and reusable Community Kids cups.
We are always happy to make time to have a chat and answer any questions you may have. We have an open-door policy and that means just that! You are welcome at any time.
