Centre Manager - Community Kids Glenella
“Happiness is a journey not a destination“
My career in early learning began in 2001 and have over 23 years of experience in the sector as an Educator, Centre Manager and Quality Support Consultant. I took on the role of centre manager at Community Kids Glenella Early Education Centre in 2016.
I hold an Advanced Diploma in Children Services and Diploma’s in Business Management and Human Resources. I am passionate about supporting children during their early years emotional, socially and cognitively. I enjoy mentoring and fostering all Educators within the industry to continuously improve and to support all learning and development for children.
Over the years I have learnt that all children are unique therefore, are individuals. I believe that inclusiveness is embedded from a very young age. My approach is to allow children to guide their learning and to support enquiry and investigation as they reach milestones. As an educator, I believe it’s a must to deliver a teaching style that reflects each child’s individual requirements.
Children who are enrolled in early learning centers are able to extend emotional and social development from a young age and that through observation, extension and reflection achievements can be reached in small and large group settings planned by educated team members. For example, peer mentoring is a major focus to assist new children transitioning into our care environment.
At Community Kids Glenella Child Care and Early Education Centre it is our philosophy to encourage and support children to be the best that they can be. We provide opportunities so: Children can CREATE, children can EXPLORE, children can be INDEPENDENT, children can CONNECT, children can be INSPIRED, children can EXPERIENCE and children can be PROBLEM SOLVERS.
We're focused on delivering a safe and nurturing environment where every child enrolled is protected by educators who use the correct safety procedures and practices. We have a major focus on child protection which includes ongoing training and professional development in identifying and supporting each child’s rights.
We have a passionate and dedicated team of educators, some of which have been at the centre more than ten years. Our team pride itself on delivering educational curriculums that are play based and inclusive of community, culture and sustainable learning opportunities.
We understand how daunting making a decision to enroll your child into care can be. From the very first meeting up until your child graduating from our Early Learning Centre, we make it our priority to support your journey. Prior to commencing at the centre our team of friendly educators will support you in completing all documentation and Centrelink requirements.
I’m available every morning for all families to connect with and or discuss any ideas and or queries. I think it’s extremely important for our team to have strong trusting relationships with all families and implementing strong communicative partnerships around early childhood education is essential to their success.
It’s important to us that we’re accessible and available to families throughout the day. We communicate through our parent app Xplor which provides families with child updates and we’re always available via a simple phone call or email.
I look forward to welcoming you to our centre.
