Childcare Townsville

Community Kids Heatley

We’re part of your village at Community Kids Heatley Child Care Early Education Centre. Our early learning and long day care centre is ideally located for families living or commuting through Heatley, Vincent, Gulliver, Aitkenvale and Cranbrook in Townsville. We are conveniently close to Townsville Shopping Centre and Aitkenvale State School. You’ll find us just off the Bruce Highway. We are open from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years.

Spacious areas designed to inspire

When you step into our Heatley child care centre, you will experience a world where children are inspired to explore, learn and grow. Our expansive outdoor environments include climbing equipment, sandpits, cubby house, and a vegetable garden to engage all the senses. Children are provided time and space for uninterrupted play as they explore the outdoor spaces to test their limits and develop strength, balance, and self-confidence.

Our indoor environments invite exploration with quality resources and learning experiences. Children marvel, create, and test out their ideas as they play with a range of materials in purposeful play spaces. Our team of experienced educators plan play-based learning experiences around children’s interests and learning goals. Literacy and numeracy concepts are embedded in play-based learning, as children engage as architects, storytellers, scientists, artists and designers.

Fun and engaging programs

We incorporate many engaging programs into our weekly schedule that includes music, swimming, a health and wellness program, the Ready Steady Go sports program and the Managing Big Emotions program. You will also receive daily photos and updates of your child's learning and development through our parent app - Xplor

Community-based early learning

Throughout the year, educators and children venture out to excursions in our local Heatley community visiting nearby parks and nature reserves. We also make monthly donations to Ronald McDonald House to help sick children. Neighbourhood connections support a sense of community and belonging for children and provide opportunities to develop social and observational skills with different people, places, and environments.

We offer an engaging sustainability program teaching the children a sense of responsibility and connection to their world.

As members of our Community Kids community, we look forward to partnering with you to provide information, support, and high-quality education and care in your child’s formative years.
