“I am committed to creating a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment where every child feels valued, respected, and encouraged to thrive.”

I have been working in early childhood education since 2015 and joined G8 Education in 2021, before joining Community Kids Old Coach Road in 2026. As a mother myself, I am passionate about providing the same level of care and education I would want for my own children. I am committed to creating a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment where every child feels valued, respected, and encouraged to thrive.

I believe early childhood education and care provides children with valuable opportunities to learn through play, social interactions, routines, and intentional teaching. While learning at home is incredibly important, a centre environment helps children build confidence, independence, communication skills, and positive relationships with peers and educators. Throughout my experience, I have learned that children are intelligent, curious, and highly capable learners. My approach supports children to embrace their individuality while building confidence, skills, and knowledge through meaningful experiences.

Our team at Community Kids Old Coach Road is dedicated, experienced, and hands-on. Many of our educators have been part of the service for many years, bringing consistency, strong relationships, and genuine care to the children and families in our community.

Building strong partnerships with families is very important to me. I focus on open communication, trust, respect, and consistency. By taking the time to genuinely connect with families and understand their circumstances, I aim to create a welcoming environment where every child and family feels a strong sense of belonging.

Our innovative early learning programs

At our early learning centre in Upper Coomera, our play-based curriculum is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), supporting children to learn through play, exploration and discovery.

Sustainability

Children develop respect for the environment through gardening, recycling and nature-based learning. Educators also introduce the interconnected aspects of sustainability, including environmental, social and economic, through concepts like fairness, sharing and community.

Community engagement

We often welcome visits from local community librarians, police, and other community services in Upper Coomera to help familiarise the children with their local community. We liaise with local primary schools to assist our Kindergarten children with their transition to school.

Music and movement

Our evidence-based Rhythm and Movement for Self-Regulation (RAMSR) program is designed to develop fundamental skills that help support children’s self-regulation, memory, and concentration. It is an innovative approach to holistic learning, development and well-being in early childhood.

Language and early literacy

Children develop early literacy through storytelling, books, songs and meaningful conversations. Educators support children to explore language in many forms, including speaking, listening, viewing, drawing and writing, while building confidence communicating with others.

Since moving to the area at the start of the year, he has learnt so much and is truly thriving. The environment is always warm, welcoming, and supportive. The communication from the team is exceptional — whenever an incident has occurred, I receive a phone call straight away, and an incident form is always ready for me to sign upon collection. I also really appreciate the daily updates and photos showing my son happily engaging in the wonderful activities the educators set up each day. The manager and educators consistently go above and beyond to provide the best care and learning opportunities for my child. I couldn’t be happier with the experience and highly recommend this centre to any family seeking a caring and high-quality early education environment.

Even after moving three times to different suburbs across the Gold Coast, we couldn’t bring ourselves to leave this centre. It genuinely feels like a second home for our little one, and we’re so grateful to be part of such a caring community. Highly recommend to any family looking for a place where their child will be loved, supported, and encouraged to grow!

See more Dear Sandy, Jenni and the Old Coach Road Team, We just wanted to send a heartfelt thank you in celebration of Early Childhood Educators’ Day. Our son Jax, constantly talks about his educators and how amazing they all are. The compassion, dedication, and care you show each and every day truly shines through in the way he speaks about kindy. We are so grateful for everything you’ve helped him achieve so far, from becoming toilet trained, to developing strong friendships, and even beginning to take leadership of himself. These are such important milestones, and we know it is thanks to the patience, encouragement, and guidance of such a wonderful team. We absolutely love the kindy and feel so lucky to be part of such a supportive and inspiring community. Thank you for all that you do, not just for Jax, but for every child who walks through your doors. With heartfelt appreciation, The Baxter Family

Frequently asked questions

A centre tour is a convenient way to experience the childcare centre of your choice and meet with our qualified educators at a time that is suitable for your family’s schedule. Click here to book a tour online.

On the day of the tour, you can observe practices and interactions within the centre environment. You’ll be able to see all the rooms and playgrounds, ask the team members any questions you have in mind, and get all the information you need to make the best decision for your child.

Enrolling is simple, and our Family Support Team will guide you through each step.

First, find your local centre and book a tour so you can meet the team and explore the learning environment. If the centre is the right fit and a place is available, you’ll receive an enrolment offer for your child. If a place is not currently available in your child’s age group, we can add your child to the waitlist and keep you updated.

To finalise your enrolment, you’ll complete an online enrolment form through a secure link sent by our Family Support Team. You’ll also need to provide key details and documents, including your child’s birth certificate, Medicare details, immunisation history statement and, if eligible, your Child Care Subsidy details.

Before your child’s first day, you may be invited to attend a Stay and Play session. This gives your child time to explore the centre, meet their educators, and start feeling comfortable in their new environment. Once your paperwork is complete, your child is ready to start their early learning journey with us.

Read our step-by-step guide on how to enrol here.

Starting child care is a big milestone, and a little preparation can help your child feel more comfortable and confident.

Before your child’s first day, you can talk positively about their new centre, explain what their day might look like, and practise small routines such as packing their bag, saying goodbye, washing hands and sitting down for meals. You may also like to visit the centre with your child, meet their educators and ask our team about what to bring on the first day.

When your child starts, our educators will take the time to get to know your child’s routine, interests, comfort items and individual needs. Settling in looks different for every child, so we work closely with families to help children feel safe, supported and ready to learn.

Learn more about our Settling-in Program.

Most of our child care and early education centres offer nappies and wipes, sunscreen and hats, as well as nutritious meals prepared by our in-house cook. Some centres also provide sheets and formula, so you may not need to remember to pack them.

For nursery children, be sure to bring: nappy rash cream, dummies, bottles and teats, comfort toys or blankets, three spare outfits and spare socks.

For toddlers and preschool or kindergarten-aged children, it’s best to bring: spare underwear, water bottle or sippy cup, sun hat, closed-toe shoes, two spare outfits and spare socks.

Plus, anything else your individual child may need, such as breast milk, a sleeping bag, a comforter or medication.

It’s best to speak to your centre of choice for a full list of everything included.

Community Kids uses Xplor Home as our family communication app. It is the best and easiest way to keep track of your child’s day.

After you enrol your child with the centre, you can utilise Xplor Home to book child care days, manage your account, receive the photographs that capture your child’s learning, learn about your child’s progress, as well as keep up-to-date with upcoming centre events and important information.

If your child shows signs of an infectious illness when they arrive at the centre or becomes sick during the day, you may be notified that you need to make alternative arrangements or pick up your child from the centre and keep them home until they are no longer infectious. While we understand that this can be inconvenient, Community Kids is committed to maintaining a healthy environment and reducing the risk of infection for all children.

Under the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), families are allowed 42 absence days per child, per financial year. These can be taken for any reason, including public holidays and when children are sick, without requiring families to provide documentation.
