Childcare and Kindergarten in Enoggera, QLD

Community Kids Enoggera offers long day care and a Kindergarten program for children aged 12 months to school age, conveniently located for families in Enoggera, Gaythorne, Alderley, Mitchelton, Newmarket and Stafford.

Shady trees, worm farm and digging patch

Children spend time in large outdoor spaces with shady trees, swings, a climbing fort, vegetable gardens, a digging patch and space for loose-parts play. Children also help care for worm farms and gardens, learning how food scraps can be reused to nourish plants.

Indoor spaces with natural resources

Indoor rooms are warm and inviting, with natural resources, quiet spaces and flexible areas for play. Children can explore sensory experiences, art, construction, imaginative play, books and group learning at their own pace.

Stable and experienced educator team

Our stable team includes long-standing leaders, Early Childhood Teachers and educators, with some team members part of the centre for more than 10 years. The team brings a mix of experience, cultural backgrounds and fresh ideas to the centre.

Government-approved Kindergarten program

Our kindergarten program is delivered by Bachelor-qualified teachers and helps children prepare for school. Children practise routines, group learning, friendships and independence as they build the skills they will use in the classroom.

Individual learning and inclusion support

Each child has an Individual Learning Plan based on their interests, strengths, abilities and needs. Educators work with families, observations and professional input where needed, including support for children learning English as an additional language.

Bush Kinder, school and retirement village visits

Kindergarten children take part in Bush Kindy experiences at the park across the road and visit local schools. Children also visit St Vincent’s Enoggera retirement village for special occasions. They share songs, stories and smiles with residents, building warm connections across generations.

Fresh meals provided daily

Our meals are supplied by Kids Gourmet Food and prepared by our centre cook each day, including breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack. Allergies, dietary requirements, preferences and cultural needs are catered for.

Family communication and daily essentials

Nappies, wipes and everyday essentials are provided to help with children’s daily care. Families receive daily updates through our family app, while educator conversations, observations, newsletters and centre events help families stay involved throughout the year.

"I recognise that children learn and develop at different rates, and I strive to provide an environment responsive to each child’s capabilities."

I began my early childhood education and care career in our wonderful Enoggera centre in 2004, gradually advancing to Lead Educator and finally to Centre Manager.

As a parent, I understand that choosing an early learning centre is one of the most important decisions parents make for their children. I chose to work in early childhood education to help parents select a home away from home for their children.

I recognise that children learn and develop at different rates, and I strive to provide an environment responsive to each child’s capabilities. At Community Kids Enoggera, we foster a positive attitude and effective communication among ourselves, our families, and each child in our care.

We continuously develop learning programs that are planned, implemented, and evaluated to meet every child’s needs. We maintain high health and safety standards, uphold high nutritional standards, and promote sustainability through water conservation, reduction, reuse, recycling, and the use of natural resources.

At Community Kids Enoggera, I have the pleasure of working with an incredible team of dedicated, qualified, and long-serving educators. Most of our educators have been with the service for over five years. Our families know that I am always available for a friendly chat. I enjoy connecting with our families by hosting family engagement events to bring everyone together.

We can’t wait to welcome you to our Enoggera early learning centre.

Our innovative early learning programs

At our early learning centre in Enoggera, our play-based curriculum is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework. Children learn through play, relationships, routines, outdoor exploration and intentional teaching.

Sustainability

Children learn about sustainability through worm farms, composting, recycling, herb gardens, vegetable gardens and an Indigenous native edible garden. They collect food scraps, feed the worms, use worm juice in the gardens and learn simple ways to reduce waste and care for nature.

Storytelling, language and early literacy

Children build language and early literacy through stories, rhymes, group reading, conversations and bilingual books. Educators also use music, movement, dramatic play and everyday conversations to help children share ideas and build confidence communicating.

Social, emotional and inclusive learning

Educators help children build friendships, independence, confidence and care for others through daily routines, group play and supported conversations. The team works with families and support services when children need extra help, including children learning English as an additional language.

STEM, creative arts and life skills

Children explore STEM, art, craft, construction, drama and imaginative play through hands-on experiences. They also build practical life skills through cooking, gardening, self-help routines and age-appropriate responsibilities.

The educators and staff are always so warm, friendly and welcoming, creating a nurturing environment for both children and parents. The management team is exceptional, with excellent communication and a centre that is consistently well run. One thing that really stands out is the continuity of staff. Several educators have been there since we first enrolled, which speaks volumes about the positive culture and provides wonderful consistency for the children. The team is also fantastic at supporting difficult morning drop-offs, handling every transition with kindness, patience and care. We're so grateful for everything they do.

From the very beginning (back in 2023), this centre didn’t really feel like a daycare in the usual sense. To me it felt warm, welcoming and genuinely community-oriented. The outdoor area for Kindy and pre-kindy is by far the biggest and most fun outdoor space of all the centres I've visited in the area (and I toured pretty much all of them!) There's room to explore, play and get creative! Over the years I shared many special moments with the staff, both happy and difficult, and the connections we formed there will stay with me forever. Honestly, it felt like I was leaving my kids in the care of my friends. And I think the kids felt that way too, because not once did they throw a tanti in the morning saying "i dont want to go!" My children loved their educators and made wonderful friendships there too. Friendships we still maintain today, despite the kids all attend different schools now. I procrastinated writing this review because i thought, all of the things I have to say will sound so overly sentimental and fabricated.. and i was right. omg. xD So let me shrink it down: My youngest started prep in Jan 2026, but I still find myself popping in occasionally just to see everyone. I think that speaks volumes about the kind of place Community Kids Enoggera is. Thank you for everything

Frequently asked questions

A centre tour is a convenient way to experience the childcare centre of your choice and meet with our qualified educators at a time that is suitable for your family’s schedule. Click here to book a tour online.

On the day of the tour, you can observe practices and interactions within the centre environment. You’ll be able to see all the rooms and playgrounds, ask the team members any questions you have in mind, and get all the information you need to make the best decision for your child.

Enrolling is simple, and our Family Support Team will guide you through each step.

First, find your local centre and book a tour so you can meet the team and explore the learning environment. If the centre is the right fit and a place is available, you’ll receive an enrolment offer for your child. If a place is not currently available in your child’s age group, we can add your child to the waitlist and keep you updated.

To finalise your enrolment, you’ll complete an online enrolment form through a secure link sent by our Family Support Team. You’ll also need to provide key details and documents, including your child’s birth certificate, Medicare details, immunisation history statement and, if eligible, your Child Care Subsidy details.

Before your child’s first day, you may be invited to attend a Stay and Play session. This gives your child time to explore the centre, meet their educators, and start feeling comfortable in their new environment. Once your paperwork is complete, your child is ready to start their early learning journey with us.

Read our step-by-step guide on how to enrol here.

Starting child care is a big milestone, and a little preparation can help your child feel more comfortable and confident.

Before your child’s first day, you can talk positively about their new centre, explain what their day might look like, and practise small routines such as packing their bag, saying goodbye, washing hands and sitting down for meals. You may also like to visit the centre with your child, meet their educators and ask our team about what to bring on the first day.

When your child starts, our educators will take the time to get to know your child’s routine, interests, comfort items and individual needs. Settling in looks different for every child, so we work closely with families to help children feel safe, supported and ready to learn.

Learn more about our Settling-in Program.

Most of our child care and early education centres offer nappies and wipes, sunscreen and hats, as well as nutritious meals prepared by our in-house cook. Some centres also provide sheets and formula, so you may not need to remember to pack them.

For nursery children, be sure to bring: nappy rash cream, dummies, bottles and teats, comfort toys or blankets, three spare outfits and spare socks.

For toddlers and preschool or kindergarten-aged children, it’s best to bring: spare underwear, water bottle or sippy cup, sun hat, closed-toe shoes, two spare outfits and spare socks.

Plus, anything else your individual child may need, such as breast milk, a sleeping bag, a comforter or medication.

It’s best to speak to your centre of choice for a full list of everything included.

Community Kids uses Xplor Home as our family communication app. It is the best and easiest way to keep track of your child’s day.

After you enrol your child with the centre, you can utilise Xplor Home to book child care days, manage your account, receive the photographs that capture your child’s learning, learn about your child’s progress, as well as keep up-to-date with upcoming centre events and important information.

If your child shows signs of an infectious illness when they arrive at the centre or becomes sick during the day, you may be notified that you need to make alternative arrangements or pick up your child from the centre and keep them home until they are no longer infectious. While we understand that this can be inconvenient, Community Kids is committed to maintaining a healthy environment and reducing the risk of infection for all children.

Under the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), families are allowed 42 absence days per child, per financial year. These can be taken for any reason, including public holidays and when children are sick, without requiring families to provide documentation.
