Community Kids Pakenham offers long day care and Kindergarten for children aged 6 weeks to school age, conveniently located for families in Pakenham, Nar Nar Goon, Nar Nar Goon North and Pakenham Upper in Melbourne.

Bike track, garden and undercover play

Children have space to ride, climb, dig and explore outdoors, with a bike track, vegetable garden, climbing equipment and sandpit. Undercover outdoor areas mean children can still enjoy active play when the weather changes.

Indoor fort and open-plan rooms

Inside, children can use interactive whiteboards, an indoor climbing fort and open-plan learning areas. The rooms give children space for creative play, group time, movement and hands-on learning.

Educators with 20+ years at the centre

Our longstanding educator team gives children familiar faces and steady relationships. Some educators have been part of the centre for more than 20 years, which helps families build trust with people who know their child well.

Kindergarten with local school connections

Our Government-approved kindergarten is delivered by Bachelor-qualified Early Childhood Teachers. Kindergarten teachers work with local primary schools to help children become more familiar with school routines and feel ready for the next step.

Individual Learning Plans for every child

Each child has an Individual Learning Plan based on their interests, strengths and developmental goals. Educators work with families to review and update the plan, so it continues to reflect each child’s learning and needs.

Weekly Active8 fitness incursions

Children take part in weekly Active8 Health and Fitness incursions across all age groups. These sessions give children regular time to move, practise coordination and enjoy active group games.

Rotating seasonal menu by our in-house chef

Our dedicated chef prepares breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack each day. The menu rotates every 4 weeks and changes with the seasons, with halal meals, vegetarian options, allergies and dietary requirements catered for.

Family communication through our app

Families stay connected through regular conversations with educators and updates shared in our family app. Daily photos and updates help families follow their child’s routines, learning and moments from the day.

From the very beginning, management made us feel so welcomed, supported and valued. There was never any judgement, just genuine care, kindness and understanding. The educators in the older rooms were absolutely amazing with our girls, taking the time to truly understand their individual needs and ensuring they felt safe, happy and supported and leaving was an incredibly emotional time for our family, but the compassion, understanding and support we received went above and beyond anything we could have expected😭❤️. What makes this centre so special is that you're not treated like just another family walking through the doors. You're made to feel like part of their family. The love, dedication and genuine care shown by management and educators is something we will always be grateful for. Community kids pakenham is so much more than a childcare centre. It's a beautiful, welcoming community filled with people who genuinely care about the children and families they support.Thank you for making such a positive difference in our girls' lives. We will always be grateful and couldn't recommend this centre highly enough! ❤️ truely thank you again Cassie, Linda, Lekan, Binal, Kalpani, the girls still talk about you all everyday. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

See more I honestly can’t speak highly enough of our experience with this childcare centre. ❤️ From the moment we walk through the doors, we are always made to feel so welcome. The educators are absolutely beautiful with my child and genuinely care about her, which means more to me than I can put into words. Leaving your little one in someone else’s care is such a big thing as a parent, and knowing she is surrounded by people who love, comfort and care for her makes it so much easier. My child has formed such beautiful bonds with her educators, and seeing how happy and comfortable she is with them says everything. They know her personality, her little quirks and what she needs, and I love seeing how excited she is to see them. The communication and support we receive is fantastic, and I always feel like I can approach the team about anything. They have been so supportive of our family and have shown my child so much patience, kindness and affection. It really does feel like more than just a childcare centre — it feels like a little community of people who genuinely care about the children and families who walk through their doors. We are incredibly grateful for everyone who plays a part in my child’s days. Knowing she is happy, safe, loved and cared for while I’m at work is absolutely priceless. Thank you for everything you do for our little girl. We appreciate you more than you know.

See more We absolutely love this kindergarten and couldn’t be happier with the care, support and communication we receive 🧡🧡 A special mention to Cassie and Linda in the front office — they are such lovely, welcoming faces to see when we arrive. They are always approachable, easy to talk to and genuinely make me feel like I can come to them about anything- I really appreciate how clear, open and transparent the communication is. My 3 year old and 4 turning 5 years old have been here just under a year now and I can mention that all of the carers are wonderful and genuinely care about the children. They are approachable, supportive and always keep me informed of any concerns, updates or things my children may need support with. I love that we can work together as a team to give my kids the best possible experience. The app and email updates are also fantastic. I love seeing what my kids have been up to throughout their day — it makes me feel so connected even when I’m not there🥹🥹 Overall, we are so grateful to have found such an amazing kindergarten. My kids love being there, and I feel completely comfortable knowing they are surrounded by people who genuinely care about them. Couldn’t recommend the whole team enough! 🙌🏼

See more My family has been attending for 5 years and in that time my children have thrived at community kids. The warmth and care they receive and the nurturing environment is exactly what we were looking for in a child care centre. The educators in the junior kinder and kinder rooms are amazing at their jobs, they have so much enthusiasm and passion for what they do. The communication from room leaders and management is excellent.

See more Thank you for being the centre who restored my faith. I’m a nervous mum but you made me feel at ease as soon as I contacted you and the high level of care showed as soon as I walked in was exceptional. It was a feeling that made me breathe in relief, knowing that my daughter will be looked after, filled with love and quality education. She has never been away from me before- you wouldn’t know it as she reached out her arms to the centre manager Cassie on our first meeting. We are now many months down the track and it just keeps getting better. I love the communication, the safety focus and that you send children home sick. Ha! That right there, shows me that you care. You are the ultimate professionals and I’m so happy to have found you.

Frequently asked questions

A centre tour is a convenient way to experience the childcare centre of your choice and meet with our qualified educators at a time that is suitable for your family’s schedule. Click here to book a tour online.

On the day of the tour, you can observe practices and interactions within the centre environment. You’ll be able to see all the rooms and playgrounds, ask the team members any questions you have in mind, and get all the information you need to make the best decision for your child.

Enrolling is simple, and our Family Support Team will guide you through each step.

First, find your local centre and book a tour so you can meet the team and explore the learning environment. If the centre is the right fit and a place is available, you’ll receive an enrolment offer for your child. If a place is not currently available in your child’s age group, we can add your child to the waitlist and keep you updated.

To finalise your enrolment, you’ll complete an online enrolment form through a secure link sent by our Family Support Team. You’ll also need to provide key details and documents, including your child’s birth certificate, Medicare details, immunisation history statement and, if eligible, your Child Care Subsidy details.

Before your child’s first day, you may be invited to attend a Stay and Play session. This gives your child time to explore the centre, meet their educators, and start feeling comfortable in their new environment. Once your paperwork is complete, your child is ready to start their early learning journey with us.

Read our step-by-step guide on how to enrol here.

Starting child care is a big milestone, and a little preparation can help your child feel more comfortable and confident.

Before your child’s first day, you can talk positively about their new centre, explain what their day might look like, and practise small routines such as packing their bag, saying goodbye, washing hands and sitting down for meals. You may also like to visit the centre with your child, meet their educators and ask our team about what to bring on the first day.

When your child starts, our educators will take the time to get to know your child’s routine, interests, comfort items and individual needs. Settling in looks different for every child, so we work closely with families to help children feel safe, supported and ready to learn.

Learn more about our Settling-in Program.

Most of our child care and early education centres offer nappies and wipes, sunscreen and hats, as well as nutritious meals prepared by our in-house cook. Some centres also provide sheets and formula, so you may not need to remember to pack them.

For nursery children, be sure to bring: nappy rash cream, dummies, bottles and teats, comfort toys or blankets, three spare outfits and spare socks.

For toddlers and preschool or kindergarten-aged children, it’s best to bring: spare underwear, water bottle or sippy cup, sun hat, closed-toe shoes, two spare outfits and spare socks.

Plus, anything else your individual child may need, such as breast milk, a sleeping bag, a comforter or medication.

It’s best to speak to your centre of choice for a full list of everything included.

Community Kids uses Xplor Home as our family communication app. It is the best and easiest way to keep track of your child’s day.

After you enrol your child with the centre, you can utilise Xplor Home to book child care days, manage your account, receive the photographs that capture your child’s learning, learn about your child’s progress, as well as keep up-to-date with upcoming centre events and important information.

If your child shows signs of an infectious illness when they arrive at the centre or becomes sick during the day, you may be notified that you need to make alternative arrangements or pick up your child from the centre and keep them home until they are no longer infectious. While we understand that this can be inconvenient, Community Kids is committed to maintaining a healthy environment and reducing the risk of infection for all children.

Under the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), families are allowed 42 absence days per child, per financial year. These can be taken for any reason, including public holidays and when children are sick, without requiring families to provide documentation.
