“I love to get down to the children’s level, whether it’s joining in messy play, sitting with them to read a story, or introducing new vocabulary to help them expand their knowledge and understanding. ”

I began working in early learning in 2020 and joined the team at Blossomvale in 2024. Supporting my own children through school and being part of their learning journey inspired me to pursue a career in early childhood education.

In my career, I’ve learnt that supporting children isn’t just about physical growth, but also about their cognitive, social and emotional development from infancy through to the preschool years. This knowledge has allowed me to design learning experiences that meet children where they are, ensuring they thrive in every stage of growth. I enjoy designing activities that spark curiosity and foster a love of learning, so every day feels like an adventure filled with exploration and discovery. I love to get down to the children’s level, whether it’s joining in messy play, sitting with them to read a story, or introducing new vocabulary to help them expand their knowledge and understanding. I’m passionate about giving them the tools they need to grow with confidence and curiosity.

When I talk with families, I explain the incredible benefits of quality early education. A child’s brain develops more rapidly in the early years than at any other stage, forming over one million neural connections every second in their first few years of life. These connections are shaped by both genetics and environment, and a nurturing, stimulating setting like ours can make a huge impact. Research shows that children who attend quality preschool programs develop stronger social, cognitive and emotional skills, and these benefits last well beyond their early years, even influencing later success in education, employment and relationships.

Our team is diverse, passionate and dedicated to supporting children’s developmental growth. Together we nurture positive relationships and create an environment where children feel safe, valued and excited to learn. As the centre manager, I greet families warmly each day, and keep open lines of communication. I listen, follow up on what I know about their family time, and advocate for their needs. I understand how important their children are to them, and I want families to feel they are never alone on their parenting journey.

I look forward to welcoming your family to our beautiful centre in McLaren Vale.

Our innovative early learning programs

At our early learning centre in McLaren Vale, our play-based curriculum is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), supporting children to learn through play, exploration and discovery.

Sustainability

Our children collect leftover water to nourish our garden and save food scraps for our educator’s chickens. We also have colour-coded bins in each room to promote recycling and environmental responsibility.

Creative Arts

Children express ideas and make meaning using a range of creative experiences, including painting, drawing, drama, dance, storytelling, music and craft activities. These experiences encourage imagination, self-expression and confidence while supporting fine motor development.

Community engagement

We go on community outings to places like the op shop and aged care facilities, enriching children’s experiences and fostering community connections. We also host visits from local community members, providing diverse and engaging learning opportunities.

Social and emotional learning

Children develop a strong sense of identity as they feel safe, secure and supported, building confidence, resilience and a positive sense of self. Through group activities, conversations and play, children learn to interact with others with care, empathy and respect, building positive relationships and friendships.

Over the past year, the centre has made huge improvements, and it’s clear things are continuing to get better and better. The environments are beautiful and thoughtfully designed. Yes, there has been some staff turnover, but every new educator we’ve met has been warm, welcoming, and truly dedicated. We receive detailed updates about our children’s day, and the educators consistently go the extra mile—not just for our children, but for all families. Communication is fantastic, and the Centre Manager is always approachable, greeting everyone with a smile and genuine interest. She listens, checks in, and supports our needs, which makes a big difference. We feel confident and happy with the care and commitment at Blossomvale and highly recommend this centre to other families.

See more Our son has been at Blossomvale for over three years and has been through all three rooms. It’s been wonderful to watch him grow and thrive there. There’s certainly been some change over the past year, but in our experience, the quality of care has never wavered, the educators continue to be so supportive, especially with our son’s separation anxiety. We’ve always felt he’s in good hands. The rooms and play yards have all been refreshed recently and the learning environment just keeps getting better and better. The staff are kind, welcoming, and always go out of their way to accommodate our family’s needs. We’re really grateful for everything they do and couldn’t be happier with the care our son receives.

On the day of the tour, you can observe practices and interactions within the centre environment. You’ll be able to see all the rooms and playgrounds, ask the team members any questions you have in mind, and get all the information you need to make the best decision for your child.

Enrolling is simple, and our Family Support Team will guide you through each step.

First, find your local centre and book a tour so you can meet the team and explore the learning environment. If the centre is the right fit and a place is available, you’ll receive an enrolment offer for your child. If a place is not currently available in your child’s age group, we can add your child to the waitlist and keep you updated.

To finalise your enrolment, you’ll complete an online enrolment form through a secure link sent by our Family Support Team. You’ll also need to provide key details and documents, including your child’s birth certificate, Medicare details, immunisation history statement and, if eligible, your Child Care Subsidy details.

Before your child’s first day, you may be invited to attend a Stay and Play session. This gives your child time to explore the centre, meet their educators, and start feeling comfortable in their new environment. Once your paperwork is complete, your child is ready to start their early learning journey with us.

Read our step-by-step guide on how to enrol here.

Starting child care is a big milestone, and a little preparation can help your child feel more comfortable and confident.

Before your child’s first day, you can talk positively about their new centre, explain what their day might look like, and practise small routines such as packing their bag, saying goodbye, washing hands and sitting down for meals. You may also like to visit the centre with your child, meet their educators and ask our team about what to bring on the first day.

When your child starts, our educators will take the time to get to know your child’s routine, interests, comfort items and individual needs. Settling in looks different for every child, so we work closely with families to help children feel safe, supported and ready to learn.

Learn more about our Settling-in Program.

Most of our child care and early education centres offer nappies and wipes, sunscreen and hats, as well as nutritious meals prepared by our in-house cook. Some centres also provide sheets and formula, so you may not need to remember to pack them.

For nursery children, be sure to bring: nappy rash cream, dummies, bottles and teats, comfort toys or blankets, three spare outfits and spare socks.

For toddlers and preschool or kindergarten-aged children, it’s best to bring: spare underwear, water bottle or sippy cup, sun hat, closed-toe shoes, two spare outfits and spare socks.

Plus, anything else your individual child may need, such as breast milk, a sleeping bag, a comforter or medication.

It’s best to speak to your centre of choice for a full list of everything included.

Community Kids uses Xplor Home as our family communication app. It is the best and easiest way to keep track of your child’s day.

After you enrol your child with the centre, you can utilise Xplor Home to book child care days, manage your account, receive the photographs that capture your child’s learning, learn about your child’s progress, as well as keep up-to-date with upcoming centre events and important information.

If your child shows signs of an infectious illness when they arrive at the centre or becomes sick during the day, you may be notified that you need to make alternative arrangements or pick up your child from the centre and keep them home until they are no longer infectious. While we understand that this can be inconvenient, Community Kids is committed to maintaining a healthy environment and reducing the risk of infection for all children.

Under the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), families are allowed 42 absence days per child, per financial year. These can be taken for any reason, including public holidays and when children are sick, without requiring families to provide documentation.
