Welcome to Community Kids High Wycombe. My name is Ashleigh Lindsay and I am the Centre Manager. Here at Community Kids High Wycombe myself and my team pride ourselves on providing the best quality learning and care possible.
My passion for children and teaching began at a very young age. I remember days spent at my Nanna’s house where I would make her sit down while I read her a story and wrote things on the whiteboard for her to “Learn”. I would then take her tests into my teachers office and mark them always writing little messages on the bottom for feedback.
Upon graduating school I went straight to TAFE to study my Certificate 3 in Children’s Services. We had to find a centre for our practical assessment and as I lived in the area, I chose Buggles Forrestfield. I loved it so much that I stayed 9 years. I worked in all rooms in the service, from an Assistant Educator, Leading Educator, Curriculum Leader and then to the position of Centre Manager.
I then found myself desiring to step out of my comfort zone and wanted to take on another challenge. The next logical step was to transfer and become the Centre Manager at Community Kids in High Wycombe. I pride myself on the longevity I can bring to a centre and look forward to continuing to maintain the high standards that Community Kids High Wycombe has and further challenge the educators to be the best educators they can for the children in our care.
I see my centre and families as an extended part of my family. I enjoy building strong positive relationships with each and every family, and child that enters the service. This gives all families the feeling of belonging and the comfort to get on with their days knowing that their child is gaining knowledge and blossoming surrounded by educators that truly believe in them.
I’m a strong believer in children learning through their own intentions – not because they are told to. Learning based on their own interests and curiosities. Exploring their world and gaining understanding of it in their own way, discovering all of life’s secrets. ‘Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded’ – Jess Lair.
All children just like adults are different and unique in their own way, they have their own thoughts, own ideas and interpretations. As educators we respect each child as the individual that they are.
Each child’s learning is documented by trained educators and used to create a portfolio consisting of learning stories, onwards adventures, intentional teaching and rich pieces of artwork. Programming is planned using the children’s interests and is both exciting and educational while being an enjoyable learning experience for all children.
The centre environments we have created are of the highest qualities as children deserve the best while exploring the environment. We are rich in natural resources and display all children’s artwork and learning with pride and purpose. We want families to have that warm cosy feeling while spending time within our service and I truly believe myself and my team create that environment.
Please feel free to come into the centre at any point to speak to myself or my team. We are lucky to be blessed in being a part of so many children’s learning and development. There is nothing more rewarding than what we do each day.

Reviews and Testimonials
See what some of our parents say about our centre:
“Just a small side note for you also, I’m sure you know how wonderful Monique is, but she really impressed me this morning. A young boy was very upset that Mummy had left and the way Monique dealt with it inspired ME! She just reassured him that Mummy was coming back as soon as she’d finished work, asked him if he was hungry, had he had breakfast, what did he have, big bowl or little bowl, big spoon or little spoon, lots of milk or only a little and just kept rattling off questions for him and he eventually got distracted and calmed down. I know she’s brilliant, but she was so calm and so easily made him calm that I was so very impressed.”
“I was raised Jehovahs Witness, and we agreed to raise our children one particular way. Previously the centre has been very understanding and considerate about these beliefs, and this year was no different. Every activity or creation that we saw Isabella participate in or come home with, was very neutral and still allowed her to be involved. The ‘advent’ calendar was an activity for the children to help put together, the gifts inside were neutral and for Isabella it was an ‘open and close’ type activity. The key ring that was beautifully done (and very much appreciated), she wasn’t wearing a Santa hat like all the other children and the card it came in wasn’t Christmas colours.
It can be difficult to find a happy medium where our religious beliefs are respected, and Isabella is not excluded from activities. Your centre does a fantastic job of this. I’m not sure if you have a rule book or ‘bible’ that you go by that allows you to get this right, or if it is something the centre does but either way it’s working wonderfully. We wanted everyone to know how much we appreciate and respect the efforts that are taken, to allow this to work so well.”
“I just wanted to send a quick email to say thank you to all the staff at Community Kids High Wycombe for their support and assistance over the last year. Not only have all the staff been very supportive of my son, Jack’s, transition into daycare, I have had immeasurable support from the staff on a person level as well. I am currently completing my Bachelor of Education, all the staff have been very approachable and always happy to have a chat with me regarding policies and procedures and how they relate to the curriculum, helping me see how my studies can be implemented in a childcare setting. I enjoy my discussions with staff on lesson ideas, their personal pedagogy and how to incorporate inclusive learning for all children. A special thank you to Dawn and Sam who are always happy to discuss and provide valuable insights on education, and Hannah, who aside from always being incredibly supportive, has also allowed me access to some of her personal resources.
It is obvious from my many discussions with staff that they highly value the welfare and education of all children who attend Community Kids High Wycombe, but also see the value of supporting the local community, going above and beyond on a personal level with the families that attend the centre. I am looking forward to remaining part of the Community Kids family and thank all the staff for giving me their time, providing valuable insights that have helped with many aspects of my studies.”
“Josh absolutely loves coming… and I am incredibly grateful for the environment you create for him. There are opportunities for fun learning and self directed play with a beautiful integration of the two. It is very obvious that you care for the children in your care very much and this is both a massive relief to me and something I am very appreciative of – thank you.”
“My kids have been attending… for 3 years now starting in the baby’s room. I have always found the carers to be extremely friendly and helpful. Whenever I have needed guidance or assistance they have always been very welling to help and assist me. The food is nutritious and parent suggestions on meals or anything else are always welcome. But the most important thing for me is that the kids just love coming here.”
“My daughter has been attending Community Kids High Wycombe for roughly 4 months now. The staff are AMAZING! The communication between staff and parents is outstanding and the amount of things my little girl has learnt makes me love the staff and centre even more. I would highly recommend this child care centre to anyone. I am so glad I made the switch from the old centre I had her in because I can see a massive difference”
“The staff are so wonderful and friendly. I never have to worry about my son as I know he is in good hands, especially his teacher Sam. My son enjoys attending this centre, always full of smiles and stories to tell on pick up. Absolutely recommend this centre:)”
