Community Kids Cessnock Early Education Centre
Natural outdoor classroom for curious minds
At Community Kids Cessnock, we have a firm stance on environmental impact and a love for the world around us. This is seen, explored and educated in many ways. We have an extraordinarily lush and vibrant outdoor space filled with an abundant of fully established trees, plants, vines and herbs. Children are provided time and space for uninterrupted play as they explore the outdoor spaces to test their limits and develop strength, balance, and self-confidence. Our space attract many amazing creatures and we often see birds nesting with their eggs in our dense and shady grape vine. A dry creek bed, a water play area, sandpits, a cubby house, and a vegetable garden help children engage all the senses. We participate in the bin trim program, we compost food wastage in our worm farm and we utilise extracted water from the dryer to water our gardens. By educating children on the importance of the natural world, we can leave a brighter future for generations to come.
Our indoor environments invite exploration with quality resources and learning experiences. Children marvel, create, and test out their ideas as they play with a range of materials in purposeful play spaces. Our team of experienced educators plan play-based learning experiences around children’s interests and learning goals. Literacy and numeracy concepts are embedded in play-based learning, as children engage as architects, storytellers, scientists, artists and designers.
Healthy meals freshly prepared in-house
You won’t need to worry about packing lunch and snacks for your child. We provide healthy, freshly made meals created daily by our in-house cook, catering for all dietary requirements including halal meals. Shared mealtimes between children and educators grow relationships, with opportunities to share stories and experiences, and model healthy eating practices. Allow us to treat you to a hot coffee and a snack during your morning drop-off.
Community-based early learning
Each day is a brand-new adventure at Community Kids Cessnock. Your child will have full access to a rotating schedule of specialised programs including sports. You will also receive daily photos and updates of your child's learning and development through our parent app - Xplor.
Neighbourhood connections support a sense of community and belonging for children and provide opportunities to develop social and observational skills with different people, places, and environments. Throughout the year, educators and children venture out on excursions to our local Cessnock community visiting nearby parks, the local performing arts theatre to watch plays and Woolworths for a behind the scenes look at nutrition and cooking.
As members of our Community Kids community, we look forward to partnering with you to provide information, support, and high-quality education and care in your child’s formative years.
